Locke Vinetti is a high school junior, disenchanted and more than a little hostile. In fact for years hes had a lousy social life because of a problem he has with his anger-a force he calls "the venom". Ever since he was eight years old and a bit off a piece of classmates nose, hes been something of a loner. But all that is about to change when he foes out with his one friend, Randall, to meet some of his crew hanging out at Riverside Park. Because in addition to meeting his kindred spirit Casey- who has his own problems with his own kind of venom(or as Casey calls it the "black") Locke meets a spiket blue fairy haircut goth girl of his dreams(Renee) And if their relationship is going to work, he knows he has to rid himself od the venom once and for all. Not only does this book tell a story of whats happening around locke it also tells a story for what goes through his dreams and how he tries to deal with the venom.
My thoughts:
Venomous by Christopher Krovatin had already drawn me in with the book cover picture, everything about this book just stuck out to me, the title of the book, the pics in the book and the summary is like nothing Ive ever read before. Venomous is an amazing book because it shows all the emotions and how hard Locke is trying to fight those emotions. He knows that the venom has caused him and the peoplpe he loves so much problems, that he tries everything to overcome it. Krovatin was able to make such strong connections so that the reader can understand what Locke has to go through, I just love it.
What I love even more is that there's a romance going on through out the book, and like every book the girl is able to help the guy overcome all of his issues. But with Venmous that only worked out for so long and Locke has to find away to fix the course of action that he has take.
Venmous is a book that every teen would have an easy time relating to with having trouble controlling your anger, having a hard time making new friends, expressing your feelings to someone that you shouldnt love or just the life that Locke has. This book is an amazing book with everything that a teen(mostly me) could want in a book.
If you havent read this book... what are you waiting for!! go out and buy the book, steal it from a friend or go to a public library just go and read this book!
