Chronicles of Vladimir Tod

I am loving all of Heather Brewers books, her first book; The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod Eighth Grade Bites didnt really get me hooked, but it made me want to continue onto the second book; Ninth Grade Slays really got me into the story a lot more.

Vlad has to keep his vampite urges under control while dealing with the pressures of middle school.
Thirteen year old Vladmir Tod really hates junior high. Bullies harass him, the principal is doggin him, and the girl he likes prefers his best friend. Oh, and Vlad has a secret: Him mother was human, but his father was a vampire. With no idea of the extent of his powers, Vlad struggles daily with his blood cravings and his enlarged fangs. When a substitute teacher begins to question him a little too closely, Vlad worries that his cover is about to be blown. But then he faces a much bigger problem: Hes being hunted by a vampire killer.

What I thought:
I thought eigth Grade Bites was a good start to the series, its basically setting everything into place. It took me a while to get into the book, but once you read around page 60 everything starts to pick up and its a quick read after that.
What got me into the book was the small romance between Vlad and Meredith, it slowly progressed in the book and made me want to read the second book even more to see if things will change.
I would say you should read the series, its a good vampire story where in each book the characters start to grow more, the plot changes, new friends are found and lost, and i just want to know more about Vlad.
